Original Vintage USS J. Kennedy CVA-67 Maritime Bronze Roundel PlaqueFor your consideration is a round ship sign/plaque from the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV/CVA-67)
Cast from solid bronze with a rope border, complete with the ship's name and number CVA-67 and faithfully embossed US NAVY Coat-of-Arms in the middle with all its glory!
Two dolphins are holding the banner "DATE ROCARE NOLITE" - "Give, do not ask"
The John F. Kennedy was the last conventionally powered aircraft carrier built by the U.S. Navy. She was launched on 27 of May 1967, and commissioned on 7 of September 1968. The vessel carried 78 aircrafts. After nearly 40 years of service, John F. Kennedy was decommissioned on August 1, 2007. She is berthed at the NAVSEA inactive Ships Facility in Philadelphia.
The presented here plaque is a period original from the vessel, not a decorative reproduction
