This is not an entry level kit for beginners, it is best suited for those with experience with low power radio transmitter kits.
The main use of this kit is to broadcast signals from high signal level devices like iPod and MP3 players, and other audio sources to a nearby AM radio receiver.  The level of the input source will need to be adjustable, and you have to provide an appropriate input connection or jack (not included).  A microphone is also included for experimentation, but the sensitivity is low.  Our deluxe transmitter kit includes a 3.5mm stereo input jack, input level control, and preamplifier tube, see our other listings.
Kit utilizes a piece of 7x9 cm (2.75 x 3.5 inch), perfboard for assembly, it will be necessary for you to enlarge holes as necessary.
Variable capacitor allows you to tune across the upper AM band to an unused frequency in your area.  Kit comes with ALL parts shown, including microphone, tested tube, and antenna wire. Includes nylon hardware for board support, which will not scratch surfaces.
Comes with simple instructions, including parts list, schematic, layout diagram, assembly and operating notes.  Normal part substitutions may occur from photo.  Soldering required, solder not included.
Powered by four batteries, one AA and three 9-volt, not included. Ships by First Class Mail in padded envelope.
