    Old, Gold Mining Company Watch Fob, "The Homestake Mining Co. (South Dakota) 20-Year Safety Award, Sterling Silver, Made by Williams, Chicago In Tiny Letters On The Back. Sterling Silver, approximately 44 mm by 38 mm in size, and in excellent condition.  The company was founded in 1877, headquartered in Lead, South Dakota, and the mine was located in the Black Hills region.  Over the years, it grew to be the largest gold producing mining company in the United States.  In the late 1990's the mine was so deep that it kept getting flooded and it was finally closed.
