Cigar tray advertising for the Lehigh & Wilkes-Barre Coal Company, operator of anthracite mines in the Northern Anthracite Field in Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties, Pennsylvania (Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Nanticoke, Shickshinny). Dates from prior to 1920, when L&WB merged with Glen Alden Coal Company.
Stamped metal, believed nickel-plated brass or bronze. Lehigh & Wilkes-Barre Company logo in three-color enamel - red, white, black. Text inside tray reads:
Frederic A. Potts & Co., Inc., special distributor for New York State.
Manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey, whose name is printed on underside.
Condition
Very good condition with some wear and tarnish.
